JAMESWAY MANURE PUMPS

Jamesway 6” Electric Manure Transfer Manure Pump
The 6” electric manure transfer pump is designed to agitate and pump milking parlor wastewater and hog manure with fast results. The lower agitation nozzle will quickly agitate a small to medium sized reception pit and will transfer manure through a 4” PVC pipe up to several hundred feet (depending on elevation).

The 6” diameter impeller can agitate liquid at a rate of up to 480 GPM with a 5 HP electric motor. An oil-filled lower bearing assembly, with greasable seals, insures a long operating life. The 6” manure transfer pump is available in 4’ through 14’ lengths.

Jamesway 12 - 16” Electric Manure Transfer Manure Pump
The 12” and 16” electric manure transfer pumps are designed to agitate and pump out manure reception pits with minimum hassle and maximum performance. Available in lengths from 6’ to 12’, and equipped with a 12” or 16” diameter impeller, our manure pumps can be equipped with a wide variety of electric motors (7.5-40 HP) to get the job done fast and easy.

Standard equipment includes twin agitation nozzles that rotate 270 degrees, a reliable triple sealed oil-bath lower bearing, and a sliding stationary mounting bracket that allows for fast, easy installation and servicing.

Jamesway 20” PTO Manure Pump
The high capacity vertical PTO pump is built to tackle the toughest liquid manure vertical wall pits around. Whether you need to agitate a large dairy reception pit or an in-ground hog manure storage pit, these pumps are built for the job. They’re tough, rugged and reliable, and they can be tailored for your operation. Choose from these models:

• 2-point hitch mounted PTO powered pump with all-hydraulic controls (including agitation nozzle, pump tilt & the agitate/fill valve). Available in lengths from 6’ to 12’. Powered by 540 or 1000 RPM PTO, the twin discharge nozzles agitate manure pits fast.

• 2-point hitch mounted PTO powered pump with manual controls for the agitation nozzle. The single discharge nozzle agitates and ransfers manure from reception pits. Available in lengths from 6’ to 12’.

All pumps feature a heavy-duty 20” diameter impeller, a tubular-type drive shaft that need no intermediate support bearings, and an oil-bath lower bearing assembly with triple, greasable seals to maintain reliable pump operation.

Jamesway 20” Electric Transfer Manure Pump
20” electric manure transfer pump is designed to agitate large manure reception pits and transfer up to 500’ to long-term storage. Available in lengths from 8’ to 12’, these pumps can be equipped with a 50, 75 or 100 HP electric motor to provide maximum pumping efficiency and performance.

All pumps feature a heavy-duty 20” diameter impeller, a tubular-type drive shaft that need no intermediate support bearings, and an oil-bath lower bearing assembly with triple, greasable seals to maintain reliable pump operation.

Jamesway SOLID-TRANS PISTON Manure Pump
he Solid-Trans is capable of transferring solid or semi-solid bedded manure long distances with low power requirements. The 7.5HP hydraulic power unit makes the Solid-Trans an excellent choice for use with single phase electricity or anywhere that power availability may be limited.

The Solid-Trans pump is equipped with a 5” hydraulic cylinder and a heavy gauge 20” diameter stainless steel pumping cylinder. The Solid-Trans has a 20” inlet and a 16” diameter outlet, and the pumping chamber is equipped with heavy guillotine doors. Manure is drawn into the pump chamber during the upstroke and pushed out during the downstroke. The guillotines act as check valves so that manure may only flow toward the storage.

Solid-Trans pumps are mounted in a dry pit and are equipped with a hopper inlet. The output is 16” diameter SDR26 PVC pipe. Steel 16” pipe is also available.

Solid-Trans pumps are intended for use in manure with long or short bedding. The Solid-Trans may not be used with sand bedding. Depending on the amount and type of bedding used, it is often necessary to add some water into the hopper or the manure gutter while the pump is running. This water helps material slide into the inlet pipe and maintains a suction seal in the inlet.

Jamesway SEMI-TRANS PISTON PUMP Manure Pump
The Semi-Trans is capable of transferring semi-solid manure long distances with low power requirements. The 7.5HP hydraulic power unit makes the Semi-Trans an excellent choice for use with single phase electricity or anywhere that power availability may be limited.

The Semi-Trans pump is equipped with a 5” hydraulic cylinder and a heavy gauge 20” diameter stainless steel pumping cylinder. The Semi-Trans has a 16” inlet and a 16” diameter outlet, and the pumping chamber is equipped with heavy steel flapper doors. Manure is drawn into the pump chamber during the upstroke and pushed out during the downstroke. The flappers act as check valves so that manure may only flow toward the storage.

Semi-Trans pumps are always mounted in a dry pit. This may be beside a reception pit with a suction tube through the wall, or the pump can be equipped with a hopper inlet for use with cross-gutter cleaners. Depending on the type of manure and the distance to the storage, the output is either 16” or 12” diameter SDR 26 PVC pipe. Steel 16” pipe is also available.

Semi-Trans pumps are intended for use in semi-solid manure with no long bedding. Short bedding or sand bedding are acceptable. When using sand bedding it is important that no water be added to dilute the manure. A high water content will cause sand to settle in the transfer pipe and rapidly block the pipe. Higher water content is acceptable with organic bedding.

Air Risers may be installed along the length of the pipe. This kit includes a 6” diameter pipe that is attached in a Y-joint to the manure pipe and runs vertically to end above ground level. Compressed air may then be used to rapidly push manure forward and scour the pipe clean. This is a normal maintenance with sand bedding. Air risers are also recommended with organic bedding on systems with a long pipe to allow easy access in case of line plugging.

Jamesway LIQUI-TRANS PISTON PUMP Manure Pump
The Liqui-Trans is capable of transferring liquid manure very long distances with low power requirements. The hydraulic power unit is available in 5HP or 7.5HP models, which makes the Liqui-Trans an excellent choice for use with single phase electricity or anywhere that power availability may be limited.

There are two models of Liqui-Trans pump available: Standard Duty is equipped with a 3” diameter hydraulic cylinder and the Heavy Duty, which is equipped with a 4” hydraulic cylinder. Both models use a heavy gauge 20” diameter stainless steel pumping cylinder and urethane-edged flapper doors.

Liqui-Trans pumps may be mounted in a dry pit beside a reception pit with a suction tube through the wall, or at floor level with a suction downspout extending down into the reception pit. Depending on the distance to the storage, the output is either 6” or 8” diameter PVC pipe. This small diameter pipe makes installation very economical.

Liqui-Trans pumps are intended for use only in very liquid manure (maximum 10% solids) with no long bedding. Manure in the reception pit may be preconditioned to meet these requirements by adding waste water and/or by homogenizing if required. The Jamesway Electric Prop Agitator is commonly used with the Liqui-Trans to precondition the manure.

Sand bedding is not recommended with the Liqui-Trans system. The high water content required in the manure will cause sand to settle in the transfer pipe and rapidly block the pipe. The exception is when the Liqui-Trans is used to lift material into a separator system. A Jamesway representative will review your plan and recommend a self-cleaning pipe configuration for these systems.

Air Risers may be installed along the length of the pipe. This kit includes a 6” diameter pipe that is attached in a Y-joint to the manure pipe and runs vertically to end above ground level. Compressed air may then be used to rapidly push manure forward and scour the pipe clean. Air risers are recommended with on any system with a long pipe to allow easy access in case of line plugging.

Please contact Jamesway for review and recommendations for systems exceeding 1000 feet of pipe, or systems with extreme vertical lift.

Jamesway MECHANICAL PISTON PUMP Manure Pump
With 40 years of experience in the field, Jamesway Mechanical Piston pumps are famous for their reliability and long life. These simple pumps require only minimal maintenance and yet will provide many years of trouble-free performance. The Mechanical Piston pumps are designed to transfer manure from the barn to storage at very high throughput, making these the pumps of choice when capacity is critical.

Solid manure or semi-solid manure with long bedding (max 1 bale per 10 cows) should only be used with the 10 x 14 base unit. This pump discharges through 15” diameter PVC pipe, and the maximum distance will vary from 80 to 150 ft with a 10HP motor, depending on the manure consistency. Some additional water is always required to help manure flow into the hopper.

Slurry or liquid manure can be pumped with either base unit but the smaller 10 x 10 model is usually preferred because it is able to pump longer distances. This unit uses 12” diameter PVC pipe and can pump up to 200 ft with a 10HP motor. Either base unit may also be equipped with 7.5 or 15HP motors for shorter or longer pipe lengths. Your Jamesway Dealer will help select the correct model for your needs.

The pumping cylinder and piston are the guts of the machine. On the downstroke, the piston pushes manure through the cylinder and past a flapper door. On the upstroke, manure passes through the hollow piston. The front of the piston is a flapper door, and as the piston begins the next downstroke, the flapper closes and pushes the manure ahead of it. While the base unit is permanently installed in concrete, all working parts are easily removable for future service or replacement. It will take many years to wear these parts out but when you need to replace them, an inexpensive ReNew Kit makes your pump brand new again.
